New Boutique Resort Near River Kwai Bridge

The U Inchantree Kanchanaburi boutique resort opened in November and enjoys an excellent location on the River Kwai within walking distance of the well-known bridge.

The resort consists of a u-shaped two-storey building with 26 rooms in a courtyard setting with landscaped gardens, dominated by an ancient ‘Inchantree’ from which the resort derives its name.

The restaurant, swimming pool and sunset terrace are on the riverbank from where guests can watch local boats and rafts passing by, kingfishers flying around and the occasional train rumbling over the (in)famous bridge.

U Inchantree’s 24 Superior rooms feature either a king or twin bed, iPod, docking station with speakers, individual controlled air conditioning, mini bar, personal electronic safe and hair dryer, wireless high speed internet, IDD telephone, coffee/tea making facilities, bathrobes, slippers, five different soaps and an LCD television with satellite feed. The rooms are well designed, but rather small at 18 sqm, without space for an extra bed. Unfortunately connecting rooms are not available either.

The two suites consist of two rooms each and are much larger at 34 sqm and extra beds can be added. However these are not offered to agents.

U Inchantree considers good service of utmost importance. It therefore provides 24-hour room service including breakfast at any time and place and time during the guests’ stay. A fitness centre, library, swimming pool, six free bikes, and WiFi access throughout the resort add convenience for guests.

The resort belongs to the U Hotels & Resorts Group. As the number of boutique resorts in Kanchanaburi town are rather limited, U Inchantree really stands out.
