Brussels was the first city to have a Blue Elephant restaurant. It was initiated over 30 years ago in 1980 by Khun Nooror Somany Steppe, a Thai living in Brussels with her Belgian husband, Mr. Karl Steppe. With a passion for Thai cooking, Khun Nooror with the support of her husband and other partners, quickly established what became one of Europe’s leading Asian restaurants. The renowned Blue Elephant London further established the name, followed by Paris and Copenhagen. Today there are 12 Blue Elephant restaurants serving the best in Royal Thai cuisine throughout Europe and the Middle East. In Thailand, Blue Elephant restaurants can be found in Bangkok and Phuket.

Blue Elephant Cooking School & Restaurant Phuket is located at the site of the Phra Pitak Chinpracha Mansion, a historic 105-year-old landmark created by a tinmining entrepreneur. It was built in an elegant Sino-Portuguese style, with its architecture following the principles of feng shui.

The Blue Elephant Cooking School has fully equipped facilities offering clients the opportunity to practice and sample famous Royal Thai Cuisine (which hails from Bangkok and the central plains of the country.
