New Hotel Possibilities in the Khiri Travel Region

Around the Greater Mekong Region, Khiri Travel is pleased to share recent news about hotel openings that our clients may find just right for them

In Myanmar’s west coast on beautiful Ngapali Beach, the Jade Marina Hotel looks out on to the inviting, fine sand beach — three kilometres of palm-fringed sands on the beautiful Bay of Bengal. The turquoise water delivers a bounty from the sea. There is great seafood at the property, seven kilometres from the town of Thandwe, in Rakhine State. The boutique property offers 14 beach front and sea view villas and a spa service.

We also like Garden Home Bed & Breakfast, a small place in Yangon with 10 comfortable air-con rooms. It has an art gallery, so may appeal to enthusiasts of the Asian art scene. It has something of a guest house feel about it. At US$75-110 (with breakfast) it’s not cheap for a ‘guest house’, but we like its central location and free internet access – as well as the art gallery paintings.

In Laos, we like Le Sen Boutique Hotel in Luang Prabang. It is conveniently located and amazing value for money – four star amenities at three star prices (in-room safe, free wifi, tea/coffee maker). Prices are from US$80 (April-October) for deluxe doubles and twins.

In Cambodia, the Saem Siemreap Hotel is new and has just opened. It’s in a quiet location and the price is good for the quality. It’s a great option for people looking for affordable luxury in a quieter more secluded area. However,it is still only minutes away from Pub Street and the night market. It is family friendly and has a pretty good gym among many pleasing features. It’s a nice location to come back to after a hot day inspecting Angkor Wat.
