990 Bicycle Journey

Khiri Travel Thailand has created a 3-day/2-night Chiang Mai soft adventure experience that gives insights into Karen hilltribe living. The guided trip also leads through superlative mountain scenery in Chiang Mai province.

The mountains around the northern capital are ideal for trekking, bamboo rafting, bicycling and hanging out in hilltribe settlements in bamboo huts in settings that have changed very little down the years.

Along the way we see the seldom-visited ruins of Wiang Takan. Surrounded by majestic mountain views there is plenty of opportunity to swim in cool mountain rivers and waterfalls.

At an elephant camp we hear about the challenges facing these majestic animals. We see Karen hilltribe women weaving and making handicrafts. In total, the three days give all participants rich insights into northern hilltribe lifestyles and the landscapes of the Golden Triangle.

Accommodation is in basic bamboo huts (with clean toilets). A moderate level of fitness is required for the hiking and cycling.
