Cambodia’s Kep & Rabbit Island

Often overlooked in favor of the well-known beach resort Sihanoukville, Kep gets a hard time. However although there is only one beach in the main town, the nearby Koh Tonsay (Rabbit Island) provides a super-relaxing day out and superb beaches.

In the morning, Kep’s crab market is where local fishermen gather. It’s a bidding and buying for the best catch of the day. Kep is where you can get the sweetest crabmeat in all of Cambodia. Of course we do some tasting.

A 30-minute journey by local boat brings us to Rabbit Island (Koh Tonsay). Secluded white sand beaches and coconut trees await. The sea here is shallow, making the island excellent for swimming. Discover a variety of rare coral, sea animals, and plants in the footsteps of researchers and ecologists. Enjoy a day of relaxation on the beach, snorkeling and swimming.

Towards the end of the afternoon we climb a local boat back to the mainland. Guests return to Kep in the evening, right on time for a picture-perfect sunset over the Gulf of Thailand.
