Revisit the architecture and elegance of colonial times in Asia

One of Khiri Travel Myanmar’s signature experiences is the “Yangon Heritage Walk”. It combines two interesting themes reminiscent of a bygone era: Tea and Architecture.

Yangon’s downtown is perfect for a walking tour of its many historic buildings, both secular and religious. The former capital city of colonial Burma, has the largest collection of late nineteenth and early twentieth-century buildings in Asia.

Our guide will walk travelers through the back streets at a leisurely pace and explain the history of each building. Some are empty, some are undergoing restoration and some are in use but not for their original purpose. The walk will finish at one of Yangon’s most famous and stylish buildings, The Strand Hotel.

Each afternoon this Victorian-era hotel serves High Tea in full style. Guests can enjoy a cup of tea along with a variety of snacks and scones in an atmosphere that evokes the elegance of the Victorian era.
