In Chiang Mai We Embraced Safety & Sustainability

The safety of our customers is of primary importance in running a sustainable tourism business. Safety awareness is also important for all of our travel office colleagues, drivers and guides to know how to help each other in the event of an accident. According to Phloenphit, Ms. Pim, Sekchit, Branch Executive at our walk-in office in Chiang Mai, “I think it is a simple concept but important for everyone in the travel industry to have this knowledge.”

Office safety is also an important criterion for Khiri’s Travelife sustainability certification. Our Chiang Mai branch office started organizing to do CPR/First Aid training about three months ago as a follow up to similar first aid training courses at our dmc travel offices in Phuket, Bangkok and Yangon. The training course was held at Chiang Mai’s McCormick hospital on 2 June 2015.

The course was divided into two sessions: classroom study and skills practice. “Everyone had to pass a test to earn his or her certification,” Ms. Pim says. “This is a similar kind of training we had in the old days in our school classrooms.” Nowadays, this kind of training is an important life skill and a reflection of Khiri Travel’s commitment to responsible tourism.
