From north to south and east to west, Cambodia is a country full of adventure. Extreme adventure is in the eye of the beholder, but Cambodia has enough to keep even the most addicted adrenaline junkies happy and yearning for more.

Cambodia - Angkor Wat - Siem Reap - extreme adventure

Starting in Siem Reap, the ultimate must see destination for all visitors to Cambodia, there are activities from “Flight of the Gibbon Angkor” zip lining adventure to horseback and/or quad riding to trekking through the jungles of Phnom Kulen, birthplace of the ancient Angkor Empire.

Getting more off the beaten path, how about spending a few nights in the jungle sleeping in a hammock and keeping one eye open for wild elephants? Camping in the jungles of Mondulkiri or in the Cardamom Mountains with indigenous communities is certainly an opportunity for extreme adventure.

Cambodia - Angkor Wat - Siem Reap - extreme adventure

Perhaps the least known adventure destination in Cambodia is Kampot. While it still has the feel of a quiet and forgotten French colonial town, underneath the surface this riverside town brims with adventure. There are few activities more fun and satisfying than biking up (or getting dropped off) atop Bokhor Mountain and then enjoying a thrilling 20km decent. Kampot also has a plethora of river-based activities such as wakeboarding and paddle boarding through beautiful canals lined with mangrove trees and quad biking through the countryside.
