New Resort in North Laos

990 Muang La Resort

It used to be that the lack of good accommodations was the reason for many travelers to give anything North of Luang Prabang a miss while visiting land-locked Laos. Mr. Jean-Paul Duverge has seen to it that this is no longer a valid excuse. He opened the Muang La Resort, just 15-odd miles east of Udom Xai. This 6-room retreat is built along the banks of a river.  The bungalows are in traditional Lao style, and have large balconies. The restaurant, facing the river, serves Lao specialties. A Lao welcome ceremony, or Baci, can be arranged on request.

There’s a natural hotspring on the grounds, which has been put to use as a natural spa and a sauna.

Count on Khiri Travel to place a couple of nights at Muang La into a great program. Khiri Travel can take you there from Luang Prabang, and include a couple of great sights  along the way. Also, Khiri is one of the few organization that can make sure you have a seamlessly organised trip overland onwards to Dien Bien Phu in Vietnam after your stay at Muang La.
