Cool Retreat to Dalat Train Villa & Café
Recently, Khiri Travel Vietnam discovered a unique resort in the hills of Dalat in Central Vietnam. It consists of a few historical buildings, all with their own charm.
A 1910 French train car that is now a restaurant-cum-coffee-bar, serves up fresh breakfast in the mornings. Travelers that are just passers-by can sit back and enjoy their freshly brewed local coffee. The mountainous views and atmosphere complete the perfect setting.
The other structure on the compound is the beautifully restored French colonial villa dating back to 1935. This used to be a simple cottage, but is now a worthy villa. It houses four two-room units, all with their own bathroom, kitchenette, and small living space.
The train villa is close to the lake and about 10 minutes from the city center and train station. Dalat is a quiet mountain town with great views of the surrounding hills with many of the houses built in European/French style. The nearby nature is good for hiking, mountain biking and canyoning. Tea and coffee plantations as well as pine trees dot the hills.
Extra selling point: travelers can visit Dalat year round, as the weather is great with sunny days and temperatures of around 20-25˚C.
