Turning Travel Transfers into Lifetime Memories

Traveling is not just about your destination it’s also about your journey to get there. Transfers can sometimes be long and frustrating, so why not make the most of them and use the opportunity to see some interesting places along the way?

For example, when traveling south to Thailand’s beach destinations it’s very likely that you will include Phuket in your program and for good reason too! The island’s beautiful coastline is combined with stunning beaches and countless possibilities for entertainment – all within easy reach.

If you’re traveling to Phuket, here are some suggestions of places to visit that will spice up your journey. Khao Sok National Park should be high on your list as it offers all sorts of possibilities for adventure. Even older than the Amazon, this pristine rainforest wilderness includes a vast lake and mountains with soaring limestone peaks.

Close by to Khoa Sok you can join a special tour by canoe that paddles you off to explore the area’s amazing ecosystem. Organized and managed by the local community these canoe trips take you on an adventure down shaded waterways and creeks passing beautiful mangroves and tropical flora that is home to an abundance of wildlife.

While the English skills of your boatman might be limited, he will do his best to point out to you exotic birds and other wildlife that only his trained eyes can spot. And don’t be alarmed if he gestures to the odd snakes above you in the branches of the trees, they are just taking an afternoon nap, though best not to make too much noise!

Next on the program is a visit to the old town of Takua Pa in Phang Nga Province. While Phuket town is known for its colourful history, not so many people know about Takua Pa, which lies about 130 km north of Phuket. Once a thriving tin mining town, today it’s a charming sleepy little place that is a delight to walk around, admiring the examples of its still visible Sino-Portuguese history.

After this delightful historical interlude we head further south to the Samet Nangshe Viewpoint for a stunning panoramic view of Phang Nga Bay with its spectacular limestone karst formations and numerous islands dotting the horizon. Last but not least, is a stop off at Phuket’s Sarasin Bridge that connects it with Phang Nga Province on the mainland. Stroll into Phuket along the special pedestrian bridge and watch the fishing boats and setting sun, before transferring to your Phuket hotel, your final destination for this eventful day.

A direct transfer from Khao Sok to Phuket is a little over three hours, but by including only a few extra hours to explore some new places, you can add memories for a lifetime!
