There’s also the option to stay on a traditional Klotok river boat and cruise along the jungle rivers for several days. The quality of these boats has increased over the last year, but if you prefer to stick to dry land, then there is also the Rimba Lodge, which is now almost entirely solar powered!

In 2018 Khiri Travel is commencing with group tours to Kalimantan. Tanjung Puting is the start of a two-week trip, which continues to Palangka Raya where we share lunch with a local Dayak tribe and cruise the Kahayan River.Bamboo floating

We continue further up north to Benjarmasin, once known for its mining industry and now striving to earn a more sustainable living from tourism. We then glide down the river on a bamboo raft and visit floating markets, as well as swamps full of buffaloes. The trip ends with a couple of relaxing days northeast at Maratua Island where there is an abundance of sea turtles.
