Pindaya’s Rural Hills and Revered Caves
The rolling hills around Pindaya, a town in the west of Shan State, are a beautifully green and scenic part of Myanmar’s rural countryside with favorable weather all-year-round – perfect for Khiri Travel Myanmar’s two-hour leisurely bike ride that will give your clients a true taste of rural Myanmar, miles from modernity.
You will be able to observe the sprawling little villages and stop to meet curious locals who rarely encounter outsiders. The best part of the trip will be a picnic lunch at a beautiful viewpoint, before continuing on by car to visit a Danu tribal village for a short walk.
You will also visit the sleepy little town of Pindaya, well-known for its revered caves with thousands of Buddha statues and images, however the real attraction of this tour is the town itself.
Situated in a valley between the Shan hills, the town is centered on the picturesque Pone Taloke Lake and offers some stunning views of mountains, ancient temples and pagodas that surround the lake. Seasonal crops grown in the hills also make for a spectacular kaleidoscope of colors.
We then continue on to explore the Pindaya Caves where thousands of Buddha images have been consecrated for worship over many centuries. Only a 45-minute walk from the town, you will discover the real reason behind why these caves are so sacred.
Other attractions include the PlanBee Beekeeping Center in Pindaya, where visitors can sample and buy pure, organically made honey, as well as a number of other bee products.
