Dalat: Vietnam’s Cool City of Eternal Spring
Khiri Travel recommends a unique resort in the hills of Dalat, Central Vietnam, with a charm all of its own. Dalat Train Villa is a beautifully restored 1935 two-story masterpiece of French colonial-era architecture that has been transformed into an elegant boutique hotel. Not far from Dalat Train Station, Dalat Train Villa’s exclusive self-contained guestrooms provide guests with elegant bathrooms, a kitchenette and even a small living room.
A 1910 French colonial train carriage located in the villa grounds has been turned into an amazing French-Vietnamese restaurant, which serves up a delicious breakfast in the mornings. Only 10 minutes from the city center, you don’t have to be a guest at the hotel to enjoy the restaurant’s freshly brewed local morning coffee, or even its fine dining and beautiful mountains views.
Dalat is a quiet mountain town with great vistas of the surrounding hills. Located in Vietnam’s central highlands, its temperate weather – which stands in contrast to the tropical climate in the rest of Vietnam – made it a popular resort destination in the early 1900s with French colonists. They soon began to fill the city with hotels, villas and boulevards and to this day its ‘Swiss- charm’ has remained intact.
Also known as the ‘City of Eternal Spring, even in the rainy season its European-style pine forests with their abundance of flowers are a beautiful option for hiking and trekking. In addition to its renowned tea and coffee plantations, a large variety of fruit is grown in the region. Visitors shouldn’t miss the chance to walk around the local markets and sample the fresh mangoes, watermelons, strawberries, almonds and grapes on sale at very reasonable prices.
Dalat’s all-year-round temperate climate with sunny days and temperatures of around 20-25˚C makes it a great destination for your clients to visit at any time of the year.
