Don Ross

About the Author

Don Ross hails from Manchester, UK, but Thailand has been home since 1969. He began his career in journalism with Allied Newspapers, the then publisher of the Bangkok Post and Bangkok World, and served as travel editor for the group’s publications. For more than two decades he contributed a weekly travel column for the Bangkok Post. He founded the regional travel trade publication, TTR Weekly, in 1978 and continues to serve as its editor working from his home in Chiang Rai, North Thailand. If he is not editing or soaking up the mountain views from his cottage terrace, he’s most likely cycling along country lanes close to home. An avid cyclist, he has explored most of Thailand and neighbouring countries on two wheels.

things to do and working tour, Bangkok, Thailand

When in Bangkok, one of the best things to do is a walking tour exploring the streets of old town Bangkok on Rattanakosin Island. Long time Thailand resident Don Ross discovered this to his delight a few weeks back when he joined our Surreal Bangkok Walk on an early Wednesday morning.
