We are currently seeking to employ an Assistant General Manager (AGM) based at the Khiri Travel office in Vientiane, Laos.

In a great position to start a management career in the travel business, the AGM supports the General Manager in leading the young local team in delivering personalized travel arrangements, superior customer service and high quality communications with tour operators world-wide.


Assistant General Manager

In addition to ensuring operational excellence, the AGM will focus primarily on commercial matters, such as account management and business development . We’re looking for a high-energy personality, with great cross cultural skills, ready to help local staff to achieve targets and goals.


Key Job Responsibilities

  • – Maximize potential of existing clients through competent product analysis and proactive, added value communications.
  • – Ensure fast, correct and efficient communications between sales teams and overseas tour operators.
  • – Lead daily sales meeting, identify problem cases by reading between the lines, and provide proactive direction.
  • – Provide regular training to increase efficiency and improve communication skills, commercial insights, and product knowledge of the sales team.
  • – Work closely with the General Manger on product and contracting matters to maximize agent production and keep our itineraries both cutting edge and marketable.
  • – Contribute to the company’s marketing effort, newsletters and social media.
  • – Assist in the development and management of Standard Operating Procedures.
  • – Occasional travel within the region for research, operational and sales related activities.
  • – Be an ambassador for the Laos as a world-class destination for travelers of any budget.

Desired Skills and Experience

A minimum of two years work experience, ideally within the travel & tourism industry in Southeast Asia.

Strategic and innovative thinker with an ability to quickly identify and solve issues, and an ability to generate and develop fresh ideas.

Creative, high-energy personality who motivates others.

Excellent in English communication skills, with a second language an advantage.

Creative, Innovative, trustful and a champion of the triple bottom-line.


We offer

A competitive salary (range of US$1600 to US$1750 depending on experience) and after probation company health insurance. Work permit arranged. The AGM reports to the General Manager.
