In support of World Oceans Day, Khiri Travel Indonesia has launched a conservation and restoration project on Gili Gede, a tiny island paradise off southwest Lombok, aimed at preventing its environmental degradation.
In partnership with the Hula Hoop Bungalows, Khiri Travel’s charitable arm will help Gili Gede villagers in Lombok, Indonesia, reduce plastic consumption and replant mangroves.
Khiri Travel recently headed a clean-up project in Phonsavanh village, Vientiane, to remove the invasive water hyacinth from its canals, an opportunity to create awareness about biodiversity protection.
The program will include an island clean up, building garbage collection carts and new recycling separation cages in each of the island’s 5 villages, providing Nazava water filters to the women’s community craft center and launching the island’s Mangrove Restoration Project.
