A Day in the Life of the Balinese

March 11, 2015 by Khiri Travel | Filed Under: , , , , ,

Bali stands apart as a land gifted with incredible natural beauty in landscape and in the character of the Balinese people. Known the world over for their unique culture that highly values artistic expression, Bali is a haven for artists. The epicenter of the Bali art scene is Ubud.

Historically, Balinese art was devoted mostly to religious expression. However, over the last century Balinese artistic traditions have evolved due to outside influences from famous artists such as Miguel Covarrubias (Mexican), Walter Spies (German) and Arie Smit (Dutch).

Khiri Travel Indonesia offers a way to discover Bali through the people and their art. We value responsible tourism by designing our tours to directly benefit the Balinese people. Enjoy a memorable experience meeting interesting people such as the top local artists in their Ubud workshops and sharing a meal of traditional Balinese food with a host family. We hope these personal interactions will help travelers reveal the true character of the Balinese people.
