Khiri Travel’s roundup of new and intriguing hotel options from around the region….

Parama Koh Chang

Parama Koh Chang, Thailand

Where can we find this hotel?

The Parama Koh Chang can be found about 30 minutes driving from the main pier on Koh Chang island in the Gulf of Thailand towards Cambodia. From the mainland it is a one-hour boat ride from Laem Ngob pier to reach the island.

What’s it like?

The property is a recently opened five-star hotel and features a special design with lots of wood. The hotel is part of the EPI[K]UREAN Hotels & Lifestyle Group and is in a secluded location. There is tasty food and the rooms offer panoramic sea views. Guests can retreat to the spa.

Why do we like it?

Although there is no beach at the resort, travellers can go to a nearby private island with white sandy beaches. A free five-minute ferry ride is available throughout the day. On the island, private beach butlers, BBQ luncheons and the resort’s Thai massage salas can be found.

TAMU Sihanoukville

Tamu Sihanouk, Sihanoukville, Cambodia

Where can we find this hotel?

The TAMU is a unique stylish experience in Sihanoukville. It lies at the far end of Otres Beach.

Why do we think it’s special?

It’s the only real hotel at this part of Otres Beach. The three-star boutique hotel has a beachside pool. Its location delivers some out-of-the-way privacy. However, it is still conveniently close to Sihanoukville’s dining, shopping and entertainment areas.

What’s it like?

TAMU is designed to be a trendy experience and comes with a kind of barefoot chic spirit. Guests get affordable luxury in a charming retreat on Otres Beach.

Inya Lake, Yangon, Myanmar

Why do we like it?

A present by the government of the Soviet Union to the government of the Union of Burma, the New York Times in 1963 said: “Inaugurated in 1962, with furniture from West Germany, an American air-conditioning system and Israeli management…the Inya Lake Hotel is a perfect multinational.” The four-star Inya Lake hotel breathes 20th century history.

What’s it like?

It has a large and beautiful garden and its Soviet architecture makes this hotel a unique icon in Myanmar’s hospitality and political history over the last 50 years. Rooms and suites have private balconies overlooking the lake.

What are alternative options to this hotel?

The Inya Lake Hotel sits on the shore of the Inya Lake in Mayangone township. An alternative historical lakeside hotel is the Kandawgyi Palace Hotel at the Kandawgyi Lake in Yangon.

Hyatt Regency Phuket_pic

Hyatt Regency Phuket, Thailand

Where can we find this hotel?

The newly opened Hyatt Regency Phuket hotel is located on the hillside overlooking Kamala Cove. It’s at the southern tip of Kamala Beach and the surroundings are quiet. The bay offers a stretch of white sandy beach.

What’s it like?

The contemporary guestrooms range from 44 sqm to 105 sqm. All the rooms overlook the Andaman Sea. We like the open-air Sunset Grill restaurant for its location on the hillside, offering remarkable cascading views.

What can we do in the area?

From the hotel, Khiri Travel Thailand can arrange various day trips on Phuket Island that cover places such as Phuket Old Town and Koh Yao Noi.

Liberty Central Saigon

Liberty Central Saigon Riverside Hotel, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Where can we find this hotel?

The Liberty can be found in Ho Chi Minh City center on the Saigon riverside. Most of the city’s attractions are about a 10-minute walk away.

Why do we think it’s special?

Recently inspected by our staff from the Khiri Vietnam office, we think the Liberty is special because of its modern boutique style. There are good services like the executive lounge and restaurant on the river. It’s a four-star hotel and brand new.

Why do we like it?

We like the hotel because of the views on the Saigon River. Guests can enjoy these from their room, the restaurant and other public areas.
