A Night Out in Captivating Phnom Penh

April 9, 2018 by Khiri Travel |

If it’s your first time in Phnom Penh, there’s no better way to familiarize yourself with this amazingly colorful city than by joining Khiri Travel’s city night tour – as seen by many locals – from the back of a scooter, in this case, a trusty Italian Vespa!

During this night adventure, our trusty riders and their Vespas will take you buzzing through the busy city streets to experience Cambodian cuisine, delicious cocktails, and local beer, as well as to see first-hand just what it is that locals do when they head out on the town. It’s a truly unique way to experience Phnom Penh’s nightlife – a city that never seems to sleep!

We begin the night at a rooftop bar where you will enjoy cocktails, meet with your tour guide and get ready for an evening of dining and exploring Phnom Penh. After chatting over drinks, you hop on the back of your Vespa and dive with your driver into the mêlée of bustling street traffic.

Our first stop on this tour is a night market that locals know is one of the best places to enjoy some of the most exquisite street food the city has to offer. Try delicious fresh oysters with traditional Cambodian toppings and this market’s famous Basa fish amok. Another favorite at this stop is the famous Kampot pepper with squid; a popular dish that once you taste it, you will think it’s out of this world.

After this street food stop, we hop back on the Vespas and head to some of the famous sights of Phnom Penh – stopping off at the beautifully lit Independence Monument to enjoy a brief story about its history.

Buzzing through the colourfully lit city streets, we then arrive at a popular open-air spot with live music and dining – a popular local hangout. Here we relax with a few drinks and listen to a mix of top Khmer songs and old foreign rock hits – it’s a fun experience that really gives you a taste of the local Khmer nightlife.

Our final stop on this night-time ride is an upscale street of small unique bars for more cocktails and a cold beer or two. You can then return to your hotel, or for the more energetic – carry on into the night, exploring the variety of unusual bars in the area.
