After Laos, Fly to the Beach

September 12, 2013 by Khiri Travel | Filed Under: , , ,

After travellers spend a fantastic holiday in Laos filled with authentic connections, intimate cultural experiences, temple visits, trekking through forests, riding elephants, and enjoying the pace of life in Laos, they may enjoy a change of setting and priorities: let’s go to the beach and relax. Vietnam has a new option.

It is expected that Mekong Air will by December this year start to connect Vientiane with Vinh on the central Vietnam coast. Vinh is the largest city between Hanoi and Hue, with the Cua Lo beach located 16kms to the north of the city. Cua Lo beach offers white sands and clean water. For after-beach entertainment, travelers can find many seafood restaurants. The new routing is likely to be the fastest way to get to a beach destination from Laos.

If, perhaps, a more seasoned beach destination is desired, it is possible to fly via Bangkok to some of Asia’s best beaches and scuba diving locations. Traveling through Laos, from the months of November to March, we recommend ending a cultural holiday in Luang Prabang and flying to the beach with either Thai Airways or Bangkok Airways.

Khiri Travel can tailor an itinerary linking Luang Prabang or Vientiane with Samui, Phuket, Hua Hin, Koh Chang (via Trat) and many more sea, sun and sand locations across Southeast Asia.

Travelers ending their journey in Vientiane, are able to transfer to Udon Thani (Thailand) by road in about an hour, and fly directly to Phuket from there. By boat from Phuket, a multitude of beach options open up, from five-star indulgence in Phuket itself, to quaint island discoveries and eco-lodges in Khao Lak, Krabi and Trang.
