Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Understand product, players, trends in Thai tourism
  • Stay up to date on new products and seek opportunities for Khiri Travel to be a leader
  • Negotiate best and most competitive rates and conditions (win-win situations) with hotels and other key suppliers
  • Maintain Khiri Travel’s preferred supplier lists
  • Set timelines during which product is sourced and delivered
  • Proactively negotiate rates and special conditions
  • Ensure top standards of quality and safety of services contracted
  • Ensure that rates, special offers and other relevant information are made available to sales department and Khiri Travel partners in a timely fashion
  • Support business development department with familiarization trips
  • Maintain performance statistics and monitor sales to evaluate the need for special campaigns
  • Ensure that information that could impact negatively on clients’ stay (i.e. construction and renovation updates) are received and shared with partners pro-actively
  • Support sales, reservation and customer service department
  • Take overall charge of the contracting department
  • Provide training of new and existing product
  • Work closely with Accounting Department to ensure that all payment terms are properly updated and invoicing/payment done according to terms negotiated

Requirements

  • Thai Nationality only
  • Age 30 to 45 years
  • Bachelor Degree in tourism or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in (static) hotel and services contracting with a destination management company (DMC)
  • Excellent knowledge of destinations within Thailand, seasonality and product
  • Understanding Khiri Travel’s key markets and their mentality and requirements
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Apps, reservation systems)
  • Good command of English (written & spoken). Other language skills are a plus
  • Understanding the work processes between DMC and their international tour operating partners
  • Pay attention to detail, work accurately and under pressure
  • Flexible working hours and occasional need to travel upcountry
