Where can we find this hotel?

The ecolodge is nestled in the rain forest bordering the Gunung Leuser National Park on the banks of the Bohorok River in northern Sumatra. The closest airport is 80 km away in Medan.

What’s it like?

This 2-star resort consists of four lodge buildings. Each building is unique in design but all are constructed using eco-friendly materials such as bamboo and rattan sourced from nearby villages. The Thomas Leaf Monkey Rooms feature a guci, a traditional Indonesian shower in a private but open-roofed bathroom.

Why do we think it is special?

Designed to serve as a model for a sustainable livelihood project, running the ecolodge is just one of the activities of the Bohorok Environmental Education Center. Besides, the staff are incredibly friendly.

What can we do in the surroundings?

This hotel provides a unique opportunity to commune with nature and enjoy the tropical rain forest. Your travelers can easily trek into the Sumatran jungle and see orangutans, bat caves and go rafting or tubing on the Bohorok River.

3 Nagas is located on Sakkaline Road in the Ban Vat Nong district of the old town Luang Prabang. It is only a short walk to many choices of shops, cafes and the temples for which Luang Prabang is famous.

The hotel is located on a quiet street, which in one direction becomes “walking street” with colonial shop houses restored as craft shops, business offices, cafes and guesthouses.
