Khiri Travel Awarded Second Travelife Certification

Khiri Travel is proud to announce that our tour operations in Thailand, Myanmar and Vietnam have been awarded Travelife Certification for the second time, since we gained full certification in 2015.

For almost 25 years we have taken strides to boost our responsible tourism credentials and develop our business in a sustainable manner – maximizing the positive effects of tourism. It has always been our aim to strongly advocate that sustainability should be ‘mainstream’ and not a niche market within the travel industry.

Khiri Travel was the first DMC in Southeast Asia to become Travelife Certified for our tour operations in these three countries. We see these certifications as true recognition of the work and initiatives Khiri Thailand, Myanmar and Vietnam continue to incorporate and implement on a daily basis – both in-house and with the people that we work, as well as in the environments we support.

Travelife is the leading training, management and certification initiative for tourism companies that are committed to sustainability. Certification, which comes in three rising stages – Engaged, Partner and Certified – is only awarded to tour operators after rigorous systems, policy and procedure checks onsite by Travelife.

Khiri Travel Indonesia was also awarded full Travelife Certification last year in November during a ceremony at the World Travel Market (WTM) in London and we hope that its accreditation will be endorsed again soon.

In addition we are also looking forward to gaining full certification for least two of our other regional tour operators in 2018!

Khiri Travel is always ready to share, communicate and get involved in new projects within the scope of responsible tourism. Thanks to the Travelife criteria we are finding ourselves more and more in a position to do so.
