Luang Prabang Trip by Miemala, accounting assistant staff at Khiri Travel Laos.

I had a travel experience recently July 2020 to visit Luang Prabang. Everything was so calm and quiet and looked like it was back to the 20th century. There were very few tourists and not many cars, just people peacefully walking along the road.

Day 1: Vientiane to Luang Prabang by Laos Airline flight QV0103. Thankfully I got a promotional price for the flight! In the evening I arrived at Luang Prabang and then I dropped my luggage at my friend’s house where I planned to stay for the night. It’s a good thing I have many friends in Luang Prabang! After that, we had a few beers as a traditional Lao welcoming and headed to a popular restaurant/bar for dinner.

Day 2: I get up at 08:00 AM. I had breakfast with my friend’s family member, they are very lovely and then we made Khao Poon (a Lao noodle dish) to support a local football team in which my friend’s little brother plays. In the afternoon, we went to cheer on our football team as they were playing a friendly match. That day I had to move to another place for the night and travelled to another friend’s place, downtown. After dropping off my luggage, I went for a walk by myself and climbed the Phousi hill to watch the sunset from above. The walk was very nice, with a lot of beautiful trees and the scent of moss. This was my first time seeing the sunset on top of the Phousi hill and it was very beautiful and peaceful as it was not crowded at all.

Day3: I got up early around 6:00 AM, I saw many local people did alms giving in the morning but I did not because I forget to take my Lao skirt ( Sinh ), everything is slow life and soft. I walked outside to have breakfast I have Khaopiek ( Lao food )and then after I have breakfast I borrowed my friend’s motorbike to visit Kuang Si waterfall and Na Deuay waterfall. I went back to Luang Prabang and had  lunch at Utopia, a famous bar/restaurant located on the banks of the Namkhan river and usually very popular to backpackers and young tourists. I stayed there and  relaxed until the evening and then went back to my friend’s house to take a shower and change to a new dress for my farewell party with my friend at Tangor Restaurant Bar and Lounge.

Day 4: Luang Prabang to Vientiane by Minivan departure 08:00 AM. We arrived in Vientiane at 05:00 PM. We used the new road for 9h (compared to 12+ hours by the old road). The views were very beautiful with lots of green scenery. Finally I arrived at my house safe and sound and with my head full of wonderful memories!
