Banthai Village, Chiang Mai, Thailand
Located just 10 minutes drive from the airport, guests have easy access to the daily night bazaar and walking distance to the walled city’s Thapae Gate. The hotel creates an atmosphere for guests to feel at home yet offer excellent service.
The Rim Resort is an alternative to Banthai Village, another 4-star property but designed in the style of colonial Lanna, the land of 1000 rice fields.
Salinda Resort, Phu Quoc Island, Vietnam
This 5-star luxury resort is centrally located on the island’s beautiful Long Beach. The hotel buildings and private villas are surrounded by a large and lush garden area that welcomes entering guests to the fresh seaside air. Perfect for families, the hotel has connecting rooms, a great kid’s club and big swimming pool in front of the beach.

Roemahkoe Heritage Hotel, Surakarta (Solo), Java, Indonesia
This 4-star boutique hotel was built as the private home of a batik baron in the early 20th century. Entering this art deco mansion feels like traveling back in time to 1920’s Amsterdam. The elegantly appointed rooms and suites are configured around a verandah that overlooks a patio and restaurant area. There is also a porch in which to sit down and enjoy a cup of tea in the afternoon.

This hotel fascinates with its very personal and colonial charm. All the rooms are very spacious and furnished with an eye for detail. There are pool view rooms facing the small, but very inviting pool, surrounded by green foliage and beach chairs.
The Le Bistro Restaurant, located on the terrace near the pool, is a perfect spot for a refreshing drink or lunch while enjoying a couple of free hours at the pool. Overall, this 4-star property is a luxurious but homey place and a pleasant respite from exploring the sites and shopping of Yangon.
