June 13, 2019 by Khiri Travel | Filed Under: ,

Laos caters to many different types of traveler with a whole range of traveling experiences and options to suit all tastes. If you are planning a visit to the royal city of Luang Prabang and your time is limited, it may be difficult to discern the best choices from the colorful array of options. To help you make the best of your time in this beautiful UNESCO World Heritage site, we have selected two Khiri Travel experiences here that when combined in single day, truly highlight the timeless qualities of Luang Prabang.

Morning Yoga in the Botanical Gardens

End the class with some mediation to get you ready for the day.

Early in the morning, you will be crossing the Mekong River in Luang Prabang by boat to Pha Tad Ke Botanical Garden, which is currently closed to the public. Upon arrival at the gardens, you will be greeted by your meditation specialist who will guide you through a one-hour walking or sitting meditation session that will establish a spiritual connection between you and your surroundings.

After your exploration of the gardens, discovering medicinal plants, ginger, palms, and other flora, you then enjoy an herbal tea at a local café, before returning on your private boat back to town to enjoy breakfast at your hotel.

One Fine Evening in Luang Prabang

On this afternoon adventure, you will head down to the Mekong River with your guide to enjoying the sunset and a relaxed game of pétanque over a nice glass of wine, or local rice whiskey. Your hosts for the night will then arrive and provide you with some unique insight into Luang Prabang’s history and culture through the art of storytelling, accompanied by a ‘khene’, the Lao version of a mouth organ. The stories are told in English, with live musical accompaniment; conjuring up an evening of cultural insight and entertainment. The tales recount the origins of such local landmarks as Mount Phousi and the Mekong, as well as the exploits of such legendary characters as Xieng Mieng and Chao Fa Ngum.

Khiri Travel’s Tuk-Tuk

Also, don’t forget that your guests can travel in Khiri Travel Laos own unique tuk-tuk, which is the perfect means of transport for our ‘Pearls of the Mekong’ city tour. The tuk-tuk, which carries our logo and branding, is a real eye catcher when driving around Luang Prabang town. Special branding for our agents is also available on request.
