Our Selected Hotels in Asia for October

October 24, 2019 by Khiri Travel | Filed Under: ,

Our selected hotels for October are found in some of Southeast Asia’s most spectacular destinations.

Fox Resorts Jaffna, Sri Lanka

Fox Resorts Jaffna, a 110-year-old colonial manor, has been renovated into a cozy 28-room property. It’s one of our favorite places to stay while exploring Jaffna. With several rooms in its main building, a number of villas overlook the beautifully landscaped garden and large pool area.

Deluxe rooms are separated into blocks named after famous Sri Lankan painters, while each room’s interior décor features paintings by local artists. In addition, the hotel staff are attentive and welcoming, making this property a great choice while staying in Jaffna.

One of the highlights of the hotel is its network of underground tunnels and bunkers which have now been converted into an Art Gallery.  This serves as a reminder that the same house was once used as a financial hub for the LTTE militia during the 30-year Sri Lankan civil war. Near the pool side lies a replica of the yazh, a harp with gut strings, which is the symbol of ancient Tamil music and has now evolved into the modern-day veena.

Khiri Travel Sri Lanka is the first DMC in the region to work directly with Tamil guides and locals – opening up the lesser known regions to adventurous travelers. We always respect the history, culture, and traditions of the North without ignoring the country’s civil conflict and troubled past. Travel is about discovery and Jaffna certainly has a special place in Sri Lanka.

La Siesta Premium Hang Be, Hanoi, Vietnam

La Siesta Premium Hang Be, with its chic decor, is at the heart of Hanoi’s Old Quarter: a vibrant and historical street. In ancient times, the storefront traded ‘be’ – a versatile type of wooden boat. It’s now one of the town’s top luxury boutique hotels.

The quaint streets around the hotel are full of cafes, restaurants, and tailor shops. We recommend window-shopping at the many traditional handicraft stalls nearby. La Siesta Premium Hang Be balances classic french-colonial charm with Asian touches. The traditional features and elegant period furnishings create an air of harmony and decadence.

An insider tip: this property is a great choice for high-end clients. It offers breathtaking views from its sky bar, personalized service, and swanky accommodations – including duplex and penthouse suites.

La Siesta Premium Hang Be is part of La Siesta Hotels under the Elegance Hospitality group, with a total of nine hotels in Hanoi and Hoi An.
