The Strand has been an institution in Yangon since 1901, when the Sarkies Brothers turned the one time horse stable into one of Asia’s most luxurious colonial era hotels. The hotel is located in historic downtown Yangon facing the river on Strand Road.

Important guests to this iconic hotel include George Orwell, David Rockefeller and Sir Mick Jagger, among others. After a recent facelift by a group of investors, The Strand has managed to preserve its old colonial charm and beautiful architectural appointments. The renovation maintained the hotel’s historical character, but reopened this famous accommodation in 1993 with a more contemporary and comfortable level of luxury and hospitality. We welcome your Myanmar clients to travel back in time with a stay at this newly updated heritage hotel to enjoy excellent service and hospitality in the heart of the city.
