The Best Coffee in Southern Laos at Koffie’s Place

April 30, 2014 by Khiri Travel | Filed Under: , ,

Enjoy a cup of joe and take a tour of family coffee farms

One of the only places in Southern Laos with a selection of top quality coffee is Koffie’s Place, about 12 km from Paksong. Koffie’s Place is the restaurant at Tat Fane Resort on the road from Pakse/Paksong to Tat Lo/Attapeu. The twin falls in a forested river gorge at Tat Fane are a top tourist destination on the Bolaven Plateau.

Koffie’s Place organizes a daily coffee tour. After a cup of a top selection coffee, the tour begins with a walk through the Tat Fane area for about 1 ½ hours to visit family owned organic coffee farms. Your traveler can see coffee growing from seedlings to trees of different ages. In the months between October and February, there are coffee picking activities as well. Everything is explained in English about both the farmer’s and a western perspective.

The staff at our Khiri Travel Laos office in Vientiane drink their coffee from the farmers at the Bolaven Plateau. Sone, who lives in Pakse and is in charge of Khiri Travel Laos’ operations in the south, makes sure that his colleagues at the head office in Vientiane frequently receive fresh coffee, straight from the local coffee roaster.
