The Perfect Destination for Families is Sri Lanka

January 18, 2018 by Khiri Travel | Filed Under: , , , , ,

Gonzalo Gil Lavedra, Khiri Travel Sri Lanka’s General Manager, remarks on why Sri Lanka is the perfect destination for families.

Firstly, there’s something for everyone. This small country has such a diverse range of activities and all within a relatively short distance. For example, while staying on the beach on the southern coast, guests can explore ancient temples, try different cuisines, as well as go on safari, open water diving or biking, all within a 1-hour drive from a home base at the beach. It simply isn’t necessary to argue about what to do or where to go. There are many choices to go off for some adventure or take the option to remain at the beach to enjoy the sun, sea and sand.

Secondly, Sri Lanka is safe. The people are kind and crime rates are low so travelers don’t have to worry about letting the kids wander down the beach. Sri Lankans are also very family-oriented. Restaurants and hotels always welcome families with children.

Thirdly, there are hundreds of family villas lining the coast. These accommodations come with private pools, so beach goers can enjoy some privacy, peace and family bonding away from other tourists. Most villas even include a cook and if a family numbers five or more people, the villa can actually be more cost effective than a hotel.
