Two New Immersive Tours in Vietnam’s Central Region

June 18, 2018 by Khiri Travel | Filed Under: , , ,

Khiri Travel Vietnam is proud to introduce two new day tours in the Central Region. Within driving distance of Hoi An, Danang and Hue, they offer guests an opportunity to see how age-old traditions and practices in rural communities play a part in everyday life. They give your clients an opportunity to get their hands dirty and a chance to meet local people living in their own homes.

Lang Co Lagoon Fishing Village

This new experience is the perfect getaway far from the well-trodden tourist trails – a chance to see a part of the country that is often overlooked. Situated between the ocean and mountains Lang Co is a crystal clear, shallow lagoon famed for its oyster farms and traditional fishing methods.

Perfect as a day tour from Hoi An/Danang where we can combine it with a scenic drive over the Hi Van Pass (which shouldn’t be missed!), this full-day excursion has everything you could want from an off-the-beaten-path tour – a local family as the hosts, the chance to try your hand at traditional fishing methods, and lunch in a stilted house on the lagoon – perfect for families or those who need to get away for the day.

This tour is also a fantastic stop if you are transferring by car from Hue to Hoi An, or vice versa. Instead of a noodle shop on the side of the road, lunch is served by your host family on the lagoon. Take your swimsuits and have a dip before heading off!

Organic Farming Collective

Only 15 km from the center of Hoi An, this new tour takes you to a small village where a group of 10 young locals have established their own organic farm. Despite having jobs and stable incomes in the city, this group decided to return to their hometown to give something back. Learn traditional farming techniques that have been updated to assist in organic farming, explore the countryside by bike and boat – far from other tourists – and have unforgettable interactions with the farm’s owners, who are changing the mentality of local farmers to protect their environment using sustainable techniques.

End the tour with your host family who make lunch at their home in the village (feel free to help with the preparation!) before a quick transfer back to Hoi An.

Both of these tours highlight the type of activities Khiri Travel wants to promote – locally organized, truly immersive tours that give our guests a real sense of what life is like in these communities. For more information, please contact [email protected].
