You begin the day with a demonstration of how to make khao lam, the delicious traditional Lao dessert made with sticky rice and coconut, which is roasted in hollow bamboo stems. You then head to a local food market to discover the amazing variety of Laotian food products. As you peruse the stalls there’s also a chance to take a break and enjoy a traditional aromatic Lao coffee. For lunch, you visit a popular kao piak sen noodle soup shop in town. Kao piak is a traditional dish eaten for breakfast or lunch made with a fragrant broth and thick rice-flour noodles. Have a peek in the kitchen and watch the frenetic preparation for the lunchtime rush! Now armed with your new culinary knowledge, you can sit down and enjoy a delicious lunch with the local patrons! End your foodie experience with a cool Beerlao, while enjoying a spectacular view overlooking the mighty Mekong River.
