Discover Khiri Indonesia Team outing in Yogyakarta!

Khiri Indonesia Staff Outing 2024, 21 - 24 November 2024

Our Khiri Indonesia team recently enjoyed an unforgettable 4-day, 3-night outing in Yogyakarta from November 21-24, 2024, under the theme “Whispers of Heritage.”

On Day One

We started with a visit to the majestic Borobudur Temple, followed by a trip to Wanurejo Village for fun team-building activities at our charming accommodation, Balkondes. Given that our offices are located across different islands: Lombok, Bali, Flores, and Yogyakarta, we hope these activities would help strengthen our team bonds.

On Day Two

We split the group into three different experiences:

  • Cycling through Candirejo Village, where we visited local, family-run businesses such as a tempe (fermented soybeans) and cassava chip maker. We explored the village on traditional ontel bikes, a classic, vintage bicycle. Afterward, we enjoyed a delicious, home-cooked lunch at Omae Biyung (Mother’s House).
  • The Second Group is going for the Walk Suroloyo. This is a scenic hike located near the Suroloyo Peak, offering amazing views of the surrounding mountains, valleys, and traditional Javanese landscapes.
  • While the Third Group goes for Walk Selogriyo. Another beautiful trekking route, this walk takes you through lush, green landscapes and offers views of terraced rice fields, ancient temples, and traditional villages.

In the afternoon, we made our way to Yogyakarta, where we stayed at our next hotel. In the evening, we explored the vibrant streets of Malioboro, famous for its street artists, batik shops, and colonial architecture.

On Day Three

We had a group lunch at Omah Dhuwur, where we enjoyed authentic Indonesian cuisine. The afternoon was spent walking through the historical Kotagede Village and participating in a Batik class, learning about the traditional art of fabric dyeing. The day ended with a fun Cosplay Gala Dinner, where everyone came dressed as their favorite characters.

On our final day, we visited the Sonobudoyo Museum to learn more about Yogyakarta’s cultural heritage before heading to the airport to return home.

This trip was a perfect blend of exploration, cultural discovery, and team spirit!. One that we will all remember for years to come.
