A Laos helicopter adventure to one of the most beautiful & remote areas to hike & meet the locals

Take off on a private helicopter ride and head north to the extraordinary Muang La Lodge in the remote province of Oudomxay. Your twenty-minute flight will take you across some of the most secluded but stunning and breathtaking terrain of northern Laos. You will fly over valleys with rivers that wind their way through striking limestone mountains that rise out of dense jungles. This region of Laos is often referred to as heaven on Earth and is exceptionally picturesque. Muang La Lodge sits on the banks of the Nam Pak river.
From Muang La Lodge you will discover some of the most fascinating ethnic minority communities that still live their life in a very humble traditional manner. After a peaceful night’s rest in this unique destination you will embark on a trek to Ban Phavie, setting off in the morning by car in the direction of Pak Huay Khai; this pleasant journey offers you wonderful views of the Nam Ma river, terraced rice fields and the many small villages that lie on the banks of the river. Upon arrival in Huay Khai you will commence your trek along a trail which follows a mountain stream that meanders through lush vegetation. You will have the opportunity to meet some of the local farmers performing their daily tasks in the rice fields and you will learn how they cultivate their lands and hunt and gather small game and fish. You will then set foot into the tropical rainforest, and after an approximate 1.5 hour trek you will emerge from the forest to arrive in the village of Ban Phavie, a beautiful and quaint Khamu village that is perched on top of a hill. Enjoy a local lunch in the village and then continue onto some nearby waterfalls, where you will have the chance to relax in the cooling pools of crystal clear fresh waters before heading back and returning to Muang La Lodge in the late afternoon.
A day spent in unspoiled nature interacting with some of the most welcoming local hilltribe village people that call this area home. You may wish to take a thermal springs bath as you dwell on an experience that will live with you for a lifetime.
